Not sure how to get your fitness journey started?  Looking for an inexpensive way to keep fit? Love socialising with others who share your passion for keeping fit?  Wanting to include strength and functional training in your fitness program?  Perhaps your Doctor has suggested getting more exercise, Group fitness classes could be for you.

At Health thru Fitness, we believe everyone should have an opportunity to participate in some form of exercise within their budget or time and lifestyle constraints. Group fitness classes offer you a low cost option for improving your fitness and staying healthy. Making new friends is an added bonus.

I love the fun of a fitness class, and I believe it’s just as much about community as learning how to exercise safely.  I use a mixture of music and fun ways to exercise so you don’t get bored, all the time encouraging you to work towards your own goals.

Active Ageing Fitness Classes

Our Active Ageing classes are a mixture of aerobic, strength and stretching for flexibility and mobility. While classes are designed specifically for the active over 50’s client who is looking for variety in a group environment, classses are open to all adults over 18 years. It’s an ideal stepping off point for those new to exercise and also to those who enjoy the community connection that comes with a group class.

You will be training with a registered and experienced personal trainer and group fitness instructor who specialises in working with the Over 50’s community and who is passionate about educating and motivating her community within a respectful and fun environment.

You will enjoy working out on your yoga mat as well as chair and standing exercises that build balance, encoourage bone density, and enhance functionality and mobility for everyday life. With a combination of tai chi, yoga and pilates inspired exercises as well as chair yoga, mat and meditation, hand weights and body weight exercises and dance for fitness routines, you will enhance your mind and body wellbeing while enjoying the company of other like minded people.

Wooloowin/Kalinga

  • Wednesdays 9am-10am (commencing 23/10/19)

West End

  •  Fridays 9am-10am (commencing 25/10/19)

  • Please note that classes do not run on gazetted public holidays. Please check in to the Health thru Fitness Facebook page for last minute changes to classes.

What to bring?

  • correct change please ($15/class)
  • water bottle
  • hand towel
  • hand weights (optional)
  • yoga/exercise mat
  • your smile and positive attitude
  • comfortable exercise clothes and shoes

Health thru Fitness also conducts exercise and stretch classes on Tuesdays at the Hibiscus Leisure Centre & Health Club, Klump Road, Upper Mt Gravatt.                                                                            Please contact the club direct for details on 3054 4374.

 

As a registered member of Fitness Australia, clients of Health thru Fitness may be able to claim a rebate for exercise classes. Please check with your health fund for full details as to your eligibility. Participating health funds include AHM, Westfund, Health Partners, IF, NIB, Medibank, HCF, Australian Unity, Teachers Health Fund.
