Not sure how to get your fitness journey started?  Looking for an inexpensive way to keep fit? Love socialising with others who share your passion for keeping fit?  Wanting to include strength and functional training in your fitness program?  Perhaps your Doctor has suggested getting more exercise, Group fitness classes could be for you.

At Health thru Fitness, we believe everyone should have an opportunity to participate in some form of exercise within their budget or time and lifestyle constraints. Group fitness classes offer you a low cost option for improving your fitness and staying healthy. Making new friends is an added bonus.

I love the fun of a fitness class, and I believe it’s just as much about community as learning how to exercise safely.  I use a mixture of music and fun ways to exercise so you don’t get bored, all the time encouraging you to work towards your own goals.

Start your week off with this luxiously warm land-based exercise class which is ideal for those who enjoy the cooler months for exercising. Many of our clients supplement this class with our aqua fitness classes during the warmer months so they are consistently building on their health and wellness throughout the year. However this class is open to everyone, but please be aware it only runs during the cooler months at The Gap, after which you have the option to join in the aqua fitness classes during the warmer months.

The Winter Warmers class is a mixture of strength building and stretching for flexibility and mobility. While classes are designed specifically for the active over 50’s client who is looking for variety in a group environment, classses are open to all adults. It’s an ideal stepping off point for those new to exercise. And you will be training with a trained instructor who is a Seniors Fitness Specialist and is passionate about keeping her community moving.

You will enjoy working out on your yoga mat as well as chair and standing exercises that build balance, improve bone density, and enhance functionality and mobility for everyday life. With Thai Chi for Balance and chair yoga, mat and meditation, hand weights and body weight exercises and dance for fitness routines, you will enhance your mind and body fitness while enjoying the company of other like minded people.

Class details for Winter 2019

  • Mondays 8:30am – 9:30am (29th April – 30th September 2019)
  • Taylor Range Country Club, Greenlanes Rd, Ashgrove. You don’t need to be a member.
  • $15 per class. 
  • Please note that classes do not run on gazetted public holidays. Please check in to the Health thru Fitness Facebook page for last minute changes to classes.

Health thru Fitness is now conducting exercise classes for Seniors on Tuesdays at the Hibiscus Leisure Centre & Health Club, Klump Road, Upper Mt Gravatt.                                                                            Please contact the club direct for details on 3054 4374.


As a registered member of Fitness Australia, clients of Health thru Fitness may be able to claim a rebate for exercise classes. Please check with your health fund for full details as to your eligibility. Participating health funds include AHM, Westfund, Health Partners, IF, NIB, Medibank, HCF, Australian Unity, Teachers Health Fund.
